Last season, da Chicago Bears were in the Super Bowl.  They looked like crap last night against the Dalls Cowboys who went in and steam-rolled them at Soldier Field.  This matchup wasn’t even close. 

Whats is the problem??  Well, where should I start.    Where is that incredible defense that took them to the Super Bowl last season?  Last night, they looked horrendous and could not stop the Cowboys as they were able to run and Romo was passing with ease.  Overrated and overpaid Cedric Benson, continues to suck and continues to fumble the ball in key situations.  Where is Thomas Jones now ?  Lastly, Rex Grossman ..  His name says it all GROSS man.  Just GROSS.  I lost count of how many bad throws he made into double and triple coverage last night.  This guy sucked last season and guess what, he still sucks.  What are the Bears thinking?   Why did they not spend some money and bring in a free-agent QB to take over this Super Bowl caliber team?  Do da Bears really think Rex is a good QB ? 

Lets face it, the Bears are very similar to the Baltimore Ravens team that won the Super Bowl where their defense was the strength of their team.  They were let by Trent Dilfer who we all know is not that good, but he is smart and conservative which is what the Bears need at QB.  Dilfer rarely forced the ball into coverage and would rather see their defense come on the field since that was their strength.   Plus, they had a hard-nosed RB in Jamal Lewis that could get those key yards when needed.  The Bears have a great defense and an RB in Benson  that can do those very samethings as Jamal Lewis (if he can just hold onto the ball).  Now, they just need a QB  that can conservatively run their offense.  That guy is not Rex Grossman.  Grossman has a good arm and loses to throw in coverage, often times getting intercepted and putting their defense in tough situations.  I think Brian Griese would be a better option for them.  Griese has an OK arm, but he does not throw a lot of INTs.  He had several very good seasons at Denver where his TD/INT ratio was very good.    Based on the Bears’ performance and the reaction of the fans, I am sure a change at QB is imminent.
